Fishie wishie, octopussie and sea horsie

Since Noah wouldn't be into flowers and hearts,

I had to put the thinking cap on

and think of some nice cool things to make him

for his bouncer.

Since last week, he has discovered that he can see!!

He was been sleeping less

and thinks he's going to miss out if he falls asleep.

The poor thing :(

So I made him

It was fun making them and didn't take too long to make them,

bit of ripping out and starting again a few times.

But they still came out ok.

Jasmine thinks there hers so I'll have to make her some in different colours,

you know, just in case!!

My baby...or should I now say my TODDLER
was 2 in May.

I had a wee party for her with her brothers and sister and her cousins. Since she was only 2, I didn't have a big party for her. Sure at that age they don't know the difference.
I made her a sponge cake, bought some rolled icing and some pens.
It was my first time to use rolled icing, since I can't make icing my self :(
It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be to use.
Although, I had to roll it out a few times as my intial measurements were way off!!
Once I mastered it, I drew on Peppa Pig.
I was so PROUD of myself :)

Then to make it a proper party,
I made some rice crispie buns :)
A party isn't a party without them...well, a kids party anyway!!

Poor Jasmine was asleep when everyone called for the party
and we had to wake her for it.
She didn't like that very much,
but soon got into the party mood.

All in all it was a lovely afternoon.
As you can see, the other kids enjoyed it too!

Stash Buster - Granny blanket

New shoes

My baby got new shoes yesterday

she absolutely loves them.

She wore the purple ones

this morning

and the sparkle ones this evening !!

Crochet gift for Trisha

I made this cowl for my friend Trisha's birthday,

with the left-over yarn

I also made her daughter a lovely heart

Another friend saw it

and now

she wants one for herself

I am so happy for someone

to want one of my creations !

I can't wait to give it to her

today she discovered a SHORTCUT !

She peeled half of it

realised that she could start eating it

It has been snowing here since before Christmas . Today I finally decided to take some photos of the kids outside in the snow!!!

Leon is the best in the snow. He has no fear, Andrea likes the snow, but hates snowball fights. And Jasmine, well…its her first time to see it. Im not sure what she thinks of it :) But I think she likes it

Andrea’s headband

I finally got back to doing some crochet…yippee J
My daughter asked me to make her a headband like one she saw some girls wearing.
It was quite easy to make.

The pattern:
Using 4 mm hook and a dk yarn,
Chain 16
Row 1: dc in 2nd ch from hook and each chain across (15 dc)
Row 2: ch3, tr into each dc across (15 tr)
Row 3: ch 1, dc into front loop only across (15 dc in front loop only)
Repeat rows 2 and 3 until desired length is achieved.
For Andrea’s headband I did 25 repeats. (She is 11 years old)

For the flower :
Make a magic loop.
Row 1: Ch1, make 12 dc into loop
Row 2: dc into front loop only of 1st dc, *ch3, skip next dc, dc into front loop of next dc, repeat from * around
Row 3: sl st into 3ch space, *( dc, 4tr, dc) into same 3ch space, repeat from * around. Sl st into 1st dc to end
Row 4: *dc in back loops unused from row 2, ch 4, repeat from * around. Sl st into 1st dc to end
Row 5: * ( dc, htr, tr, 3dtr, tr, htr, dc) in 4ch space, repeat from * around. Sl st into 1st dc to end
Fasten off
Sew flower onto headband

Ok the main reason That I have set up this blog is for my crochet obsession.
I learned crochet around the age of 8. At that time things like crochet and knitting were taught at school.
My mum showed me how to crochet and knit at home. I can remember sitting on her lap as she taught me. She's left handed and she taught us (myself and my sister) how to crochet and knit right handed, which I think is amazing! She's great like that.
AT the time I crocheted doilies and filet crochet and still have a thing for doilies (just check out my ravelry account)
Once I left secondary school, I put down my hooks and picked them up again last year. I crocheted my cousin a christening blanket for her son. I loved it..and ever since I haven't put my hooks down.

Slightly obsessed would be an understatement.
